Primary 6/7

We all enjoyed a great trip to the Navan Centre to finish off our topic on The Vikings. We learnt all about the weapons they would have used both for hunting and in battle, had the opportunity to write as a Viking and a monk and finally experienced what life would have been like travelling on a longboat.

Hockey Star Player of the Month goes to Hunter! Well done Hunter!

Caoimhe from the Northern Ireland Forest School Association came in to school to check how we are all getting on with our Forest School lessons. We all enjoyed getting our hands dirty and making some mud clay. We had great fun and our end creations were fantastic!

We enjoyed a fantastic plastic workshop delivered by W5. We learnt all about the plastics in the world around us, created a mosaic using Hama beads made from plant material and had a go at making our own plastic by mixing milk and vinegar. We then added food colouring to give our plastic some colour which will explain their multi coloured hands at home time!

We baked some Viking Oatcakes. they actually tasted quite nice

We had a Police Safety talk today teaching us to safe around fireworks

Madison very kindly brought us in a bag of conkers she collected with her Granda. So we went outside and made some conker creatures!

Perfect weather today for completing our maths activity. We had to make our own metre squares and work out the area of the pitch.

It was brilliant to get to the beginning of our hockey training. A real highlight of our week and we haven’t forgotten our skills!
