Ella went to Lurgan Show to show her sheep. Ella and James were fantastic in the young handler section, winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd in different sections. A special mention to their very well behaved sheep Sparkles, Leo and Roger
Alice and Grace won 1st prize rosettes at Armagh Show. Grace came 1st with her queen cakes and Alice got 1st for her shortbread. Excellent girls, I think we will sample them some day in class! Alice also got a medal at her gymnastics competition, well done!
Noel from ARC21 came to talk to us about recycling. We made some fantastic pyramids with him.
Sports Day! Normally we enjoy ice cream on sports day, but today we had hot chocolate and marshmallows! Races won and lost, most importantly we had great fun!
Primary 5’s had a brilliant day at the Sentinus Stem Experience in Craigavon Leisure Centre. We took part in different workshops including use of the BBC Microbit, a Space show and a robotics workshop.
As part of forest and eco schools each pupil got a chestnut tree to take home and replant. Fantastic!
On sunny days, we need quick cool downs!
Leanne from the Livestock and Meat Commission came and did a cookery demonstration for us, we made chilli beef with noodles and prawn crackers! Everyone tried it and agreed it was very tasty! We got recipe books to try some dishes at home.
We celebrated Chloe’s 8th birthday with some delicious homemade chocolate cake! We got to enjoy it outside in the sunshine!
P4 had fun on the gymnastics equipment!
Easter egg hunt! We weren’t able to do our egg hunt before Easter because of the snow, so we took our chance and did it today! Like the snow the chocolate didn’t last long!

Easter treats! We made chocolate nests using shredded wheat, melted chocolate and of course some chocolate eggs!
We made cartouches in art to finish off our topic of ‘The Egyptians’. We used clay to made the tablet and wrote our names with hieroglyphs.
We had a great morning with Caoimhe from Forest Schools. We made outdoor pictures of trees and used bamboo canes as our photo frames. Excellent teamwork!
For World Book Day we made masks of characters from our favourite books. Everyone looked fantastic! We had lots of different characters, can you guess their character?
We had a visit from a very cross teacher from a very famous book, can you name her? Thankfully she didn’t stay long!
We enjoyed celebrating Grace’s 8th birthday with her today! She brought in a beautiful cake that was baked by her auntie. It was delicious, thank you Grace. Happy 8th birthday to you!
Grace took part in Portadown Festival where she won many medals and a cup for the most promising dancer! Well done Grace, we are super proud of you!
As part of Waste Week, Mrs Whyte set up a scavenger hunt for us. We had to find clues which related to waste and recycling. We really enjoyed it and found out some interesting facts.
Today we had a shared lesson with P6/7 where we entered code into our micro bits to write messages and make sound. It was great to learn from each other.

Today we celebrated Number Day and raised some money for the NSPCC.
As part of our Ancient Egypt topic we looked at the mummification process so today we followed the steps and mummified a pupil. We removed his organs and placed them in canopic jars, wrapped his body in cloth strips and placed his death mask on him. Louis was a great sport!
Grace received her certificate for Step 1 piano exam, we are very proud of you! Well done!
We all enjoyed a fantastic trip to Hillsborough Castle. We were able to explore the gardens in the snow and then we learnt all about being a servant in the castle during Victorian times.
Today the PSNI came to talk to us about Farm Safety, they brought along a New Holland tractor too!
As part of our food and farming topic we researched the life of Harry Ferguson. Sam’s granda brought in his vintage Massey and Harry’s daddy brought his new Massey so we could measure and compare the tractors and look at the 3 point linkage system. Thank you so much to both, we had a great day!
The fire brigade came to speak to P4/5 and delivered a very important message on fire safety. We all got great activity packs to complete.
We completed our Santa daily mile and dressed up for the occasion!
Harry was our player of the month and was awarded a T-shirt from Christine, our hockey coach. Well done Harry!

Odd Sock Day! As part of anti bullying week we all wore odd socks to school on Monday 13th November! Someone even wore their Christmas socks 😉

Today we dressed brightly for Ditch the Dark Day, to remind us about keeping safe close to roads and traffic. We also enjoyed some delicious s’mores!
Today we completed our sponsored walk. It was a beautiful day for a walk up the Island Road, beautiful views, shiny conkers and muddy puddles!

Super September! What glorious weather, we enjoyed parachute games and an ice pop in the shade! This may be the hottest day of the year!
Our topic is food and farming. We have been looking at where our food comes from- some came from as far away as Peru, Costa Rica and The Netherlands! We enjoyed some homegrown produce in class with tomatoes from Louis’ granny’s greenhouse, eggs from Sam’s very own hens and potatoes from Grace grown on the Aughnagurgan Road! They were very tasty and everyone tried something.
Today we tried milk that came straight from Sam’s farm this morning, it was delicious!
We tried cucumber from Chloe’s Papa’s greenhouse. We agreed it was delicious!
We have been finding out about County Armagh’s very special Bramley Apples, so today we all helped to make apple crumble. It was delicious!
