March - April

Well done to these pupils who were presented with certificates for reaching their targets in Accelerated Reader.

We planted potatoes, sunflowers and garden peas in the green house in our pollinator garden.

We made castles out of clay. We rolled out a clay slab using guides. We drew on the parts of a castle and added details using slip. We included a portcullis, the tower and battlements. We made castles out of junk materials and Lego.

Our school trip to Gosford Forest Park. We all had great fun in the fantastic weather😎. We were amazed to see a real castle after learning so much about castles during topic work.

'World Book Day' - 6th March 2025

Noah's dad records audio books and stories professionally. He came into school for 'World Book Day' and read us the story of "The Gingerbread Man" and he taught us about how important is it to use the correct characters voice. We really enjoyed his visit.

As part of our World Book Day activities we chose our favourite book and an adult read it to us. We illustrated our favourite part of it and our class had to guess which story it was. We gave clues about the setting and the characters. It was good fun guessing. Some of the illustrations were amazing.

As part of our World Book Day activities, we did a live lesson with Irish author and illustrator Paddy Donnelly. It was great fun, he taught us how to draw the peacock from his story "Fox and Son Trailers".

We were very excited today when some of the Primary 7 children came and read to us for "World Book Day".

Pancake Tuesday. We all enjoyed helping to make pancakes as well as trying some delicious toppings!😋

'Waste Week', 3rd March.

Noel from Newry, Mourne and Down Council came into school and taught us about recycling. We learnt  which bin to put our waste into and we made plant pots from old newspaper, then we filled our paper bio-degradable pots with recycled compost and we planted cress seeds. We had great fun.
