Primary 4/5

Such excitement this morning as two wonderful past pupils brought a range of animals in for us to have a look at.

Primary 5, 6 and 7 enjoyed a fantastic end of year trip to Lurgaboy Outdoor Adventure Centre. We all had the opportunity to try our hand at paddle-boarding, canoeing, archery, orienteering and the famous β€˜Leap of Faith.’ The weather was beautiful which was just as well as a few of us needed drying off!

Primary 4 and 5 have been looking at electricity for their topic. In art we made our dream bedroom/games room. We used batteries, wires and a bulb to make a light in our shoebox rooms.

AR certificate winners in P4/5, well done everyone!

Primary 4 thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Outdoor play day.

Great fun had in P4 and P5 celebrating the Coronation. Lots of yummy treats and a picnic lunch. We took full advantage of the break in the weather to get outside for some traditional party games.

Coronation Prize winners! Well done Grace and Amelia, they got a voucher for the book fair!

Congratulations to Amelia on receiving a Distinction in her Step One piano exam.

We have started to learn about fractions, so we started by dividing pizzas, equally. We looked for equivalent fractions, recorded them and then ate the pizza!

Grace danced at Portadown Festival and won a cup for most promising dancer! We are so proud of you, well done!

Primary 4 and 5 have been busy helping our local beekeeper, Mrs Nicole McKee by decorating the bee hives ready for summer honey.

Waste week. Noel came from ARC21 to talk about how we can recycle at home. He also brought along the smell of a landfill site which really wasn’t very pleasant! We made badges to help remind us of this message and he gave us each a pen made from old games consoles!

Many congratulations Amelia, on becoming our first word millionaire! This is a fantastic achievement, we are very proud of you!

We have been having fun making model Anderson Shelters with Mrs Preston in art. We have worked hard and are really proud of how they turned out.

AR certificates were awarded today. Well done everyone!

We have been learning about rationing in WW2, so today we tried out a WW2 recipe and made carrot cookies. We were all impressed and took the recipe home to try them!

Safer internet day 2023. We took part in an online safety webinar led by Allstate and the PSNI. We really enjoyed it and it gave us some useful ways to stay safe online. In the afternoon the PSNI visited and gave a presentation on cyber safety.

Today a group of evacuees travelled to The County Museum in Armagh. We learned about WW2 and we each made a gas mask.

Today Primary 5, 6 and 7 pupils participated in a Sentinus Primary STEM workshop in school. Focusing on technology children programmed robots to travel along the track.
