This week we have been learning about hedgehogs. We have enjoyed lots of new things about hedgehogs and lots of our activities are based on hedgehogs. We made hedgehog shaped biscuits and we made hedgehogs with dough and used pasta for spikes.
Today we had a go at a whole class lesson on our class set of iPads. We used qr codes to get to a website that Mrs Preston had selected. We were brilliant at navigating our way around the iPad and I think it will be great for helping with our learning.
This week in school we are celebrating maths week. Our theme for maths week is time. We have been thinking about what happens at night time and during the day. Today we made watches for ourselves. We were very proud of our watches.
This month, our topic is autumn. Today we went on an autumn walk to find some signs of autumn. We had great fun walking in the field behind our school and splashing in the stream.
This week our rhyme is ‘Dingle Dangle Scarecrow’. We have had great fun learning the rhyme and having a go at some scarecrow activities. We found a reading book with instructions on how to make a scarecrow, so we had a go at making our own. We hope you like him, he is called Sammy the Scarecrow. We put him in our pollinator garden.
This week we had a visit from the police, who told us about firework safety.
This week, our story is ‘Pumpkin Soup’. We decided to make our own pumpkin soup, it was delicious.
Today we had our new Busy Bees in school for a stay and play session. We had great fun making new friends and playing together. We are looking forward to more of our Busy Bees starting later in the year.
