October

This month we're going crazy about 'Autumn'.  We are looking for signs of autumn all around us, learning about trees in autumn, scarecrows and hedgehogs.

We went on a walk around our school to look for signs of autumn

We read a story called Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper.  We enjoyed the story and thought it would be a good idea to try and make our own pumpkin soup.  Have a look at how we got on.
As part of our topic this month on autumn and harvest, we went on a trip to Gosford Forest Park on Wednesday 24th October.  We were very excited as this was our first class trip and for some of us it would be our first time on a bus journey.  We all got our wellies and coats and set off for Gosford.  It was a lovely day and we saw lots of exciting things at the park.  One of the highlights of our trip was getting to try out Gosford's new play park.  After close inspection and taking time to try it out with our friends we can highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys a fun park!  Have a look at what we got up to at Gosford Forest Park.

Making hedgehogs

In October we celebrated Maths week throughout school.  Take a look at the fun maths activities we took part in.
Reception and Primary 1 took part in a whole school harvest assembly.  We helped the P3's by bringing some items to the front that we are thankful to God for.  We thank God for the food we eat, for playtime, for the leaves and the beautiful flowers.
